Account Director

Our Brand Services group is the first line of contact with our clients. They work with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, develop appropriate strategies, and identify/implement solutions to help achieve client goals. 

This Account Director role at Love Advertising, a senior position within our Brand Services group, will foster a close communications relationship with a key energy client on a multi-year, digital-first engagement, creating an atmosphere where issues regarding work quality, pricing, performance, or team personnel can be discussed openly and candidly. They also help identify client needs and work strategically to provide thoughtful solutions with measurable results that build organic growth for the agency beyond the existing scope.

The Account Director will be asked to maintain a high level of performance for their account team and other agency personnel. They are expected to manage the overall client/account profitability, ensuring responsible financial management and delivery of account profit expectations. Ultimately the Account Director is responsible for the financial profitability and growth of the account. Additionally, this role is expected to work with SMEs or Practice Area Leads within the agency to define and influence the client’s direction while also promoting the visibility of team members from other agency disciplines to the client to demonstrate the breadth of the value of the agency’s offering.

In your role, you might:

  • Help lead cross-functional teams made up of Strategy, UX, Web Design, Visual Design, Copywriting, MarTech, Technology, and Production 
  • Oversee implementation of tactical plans, the planning process assessment, situation analysis, brand planning, and development of strategic direct marketing plans 
  • Have a deep understanding of key energy sector businesses, including Retail Fuel, Refining, Aviation Fuel, Lubricants, and Petrochemical production.
  • Evaluate performance and skill level of account group personnel and recommend staffing changes necessary to support client needs 
  • Partner with Strategy and Creative to ensure the work meets and exceeds client expectations
  • Lead the creation of client presentation materials
  • Partner with Production to be the day-to-day lead for both internal and client purposes
  • Serve as the go-to person for new team members joining this account team

The ideal candidate: 

  • Can foster strong, cohesive working interdisciplinary teams 
  • Uses alternative analytical approaches to solve digital/interactive/marketing problems 
  • Can define solutions that generate measurable results for our clients
  • Exhibits a passion for digital marketing and the creative process 

Necessary Experience:   

  • 10+ years of integrated marketing experience with a digital focus
  • Agency experience in a client services capacity 
  • A proven track record of successfully managing multi-million dollar accounts 
  • Experience with various projects types, including web, CRM, email, mobile, video, brand, social, and strategic consulting for both B2B and B2C clients 
  • A track record of multi­tasking in a fast­-paced creative environment 
  • Outstanding public speaking skills
