Account Coordinator

The Public Relations Account Coordinator or Account Executive will support the Love Adv’s award-winning Public Relations team in raising awareness and conducting media relations efforts to promote a variety of agency clients. The Public Relations Account Coordinator or Account Executive will be client-facing on assigned accounts and is responsible for contributing to big ideas, writing eye-catching press materials and securing signature stories through strong relationships with reporters.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for researching, writing, and editing public relations materials such as pitches, press releases, op-eds, etc.
  • Develop and maintain media lists for all clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with media.
  • Pitch unique story ideas and press materials to local, regional and national media across print, online, TV and radio.
  • Contribute to planning, and implementation of tactical ideas for publicity stunts, press events, media gifts, community relations, etc.
  • Coordinate media interviews and write interview briefing sheets to prep clients.
  • Keep abreast of trends, changes and breaking news related to clients’ industries and market developments
  • Be a consistent idea generator for all clients
  • Assist with media training spokesperson(s) for interview and speaking opportunities.
  • Act as a day-to-day PR representative between agency and PR clients
  • Provide on-site event support and or media interview staffing
  • Prepare and analyze PR recaps which includes monthly client news coverage, status reports, media clipping, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and inform PR Supervisor and PR Director of any issues regarding campaign activities
  • Work collaboratively with public relations, account service, creative, social media and media teams to support various programs such as campaigns, events, announcements, promotions, communications plans, etc.
  • Support new business development
  • Support of other agency initiatives as requested

Qualifications

  • Two to three years of public relations experience
  • Agency experience required
  • Solid education and relationships with local, regional and national media reporters, producers, editors, etc.
  • Proven track record of securing earned signature stories in print, online, TV and radio a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and media monitoring, tracking and reporting tools such as Cision, Meltwater, etc.
  • BA/BS in Mass Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with clients or executive level on day-to-day activities
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated expertise in Associated Press (AP) style and the ability to edit and write public relations plans, pitches, opinion pieces, news releases and other necessary public relations items
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple initiatives and priorities within specified timeframes
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to present to clients
  • Ability to think strategic, be a risk taker, be a problem solver and have a passion for storytelling
