Got questions?

See answers to some of our commonly asked questions about our internship program.

Can I receive school credit from my internship with Love Advertising?

Yes! We are more than happy to work with your academic institution to complete any necessary paperwork required for you to receive school credit.

When does the Love internship start and end?

If selected to be an intern at Love Advertising, your first day will be May 29. The internship will end on August 1, which means 10 weeks of fun, real-world experience at an advertising agency.

What will I be doing as an intern?

We don’t use interns to brew coffee, fetch lunch and make copies. Our internship program has two components to help ensure you get a well-rounded experience that will benefit you throughout your career:

  1. Education: The goal of an internship is to learn, so the Love internship committee has worked hard to secure field trips to vendors’ offices, agency partners, printers, and TV and radio stations to help you get a better understanding of what it takes to make the magic happen.
  2. Mentorship: Each intern is assigned a mentor within the agency to answer any questions, provide guidance and help you meet the goals of your internship. These relationships can even continue after the internship as you enter into your career.

Does an internship lead to job opportunities at Love Advertising?

While we can’t guarantee a full-time job offer at the end of the internship, there is definitely potential! Many of the current Love employees started out as interns. In fact, Love has hired interns from our past four summer intern classes and past interns are the first people we look to when filling entry-level positions.

Is a cover letter optional?

No. At the end of the day, advertising is all about communication so we use your resume and especially your cover letter to help us evaluate your communication skills.

Should I include relevant social media links in my resume?

Yes, we encourage you to include social media links with your application. Social media is a big part of what we do at Love so feel free to show off any social media experience, even if it’s personal.

How many interns do you hire?

While we receive hundreds of applications, we choose 5-6 interns to participate in the Love Advertising Summer 2024 Internship Program.

What are the hours of the internship?

Interns have the same in-office hours as our employees to help get the most out of the internship experience. Love internship hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch. We pride ourselves on an excellent culture so if you have a doctor’s appointment or another important matter, we try to work with you as much as possible. Remote and part-time positions are available on a selective basis.

How should I send my portfolio?

You can include a link on your resume or cover letter. There’s also a portfolio field on the internship application form.

When will you make decisions about interns?

We will do our best to communicate with each applicant but here are some important dates to keep in mind.

  • Now through February 29: Submissions Open
  • February 29: Submissions Close
  • March 4 – April 8: Interviews
  • Week of April 22: Offers Sent
  • May 29: Internship Starts
  • August 1: Internship Ends

How do I know which department to apply for?

Love encourages our interns to develop a wide range of skills in the industry, so feel free to choose a department not only based on major but also field of interest. Here’s a rundown of each department:

  • Brand: The glue that holds it all together. As the liaisons between clients and the Love team at large, our robust account service staff speak multiple languages – from budgets and results, to strategy, broadcast, digital, print, PR, media and more.
  • Creative: For the artists and the visionaries. Love’s creatives solve client challenges through truth and tension, distilling a brand’s promise into meaningful statements and finding powerful motivators to change behavior and inspire action.
  • Public Relations: The gut-checkers and truth-keepers. The members of the Love PR team unleash the true power of an insight by pairing them with great ideas and influential relationships. From media relations campaigns to product launches and events, our PR experts help clients generate increased awareness, communicate more effectively, and connect with the people who matter.
  • Digital: The masters of content creation. Fueled by a blend of creative passion and thoughtful data, Love’s digital nomads identify technology-driven opportunities for clients to deliver more traffic, enhance loyalty, and engage with consumers in new ways.
  • Media: The ones who see and help others be seen. At Love, we build creative executions with specific mediums in mind – billboards, TV spots, print ads, radio ads and more. Specific to each client’s business problem. Specific to each customer segment. Specific to each geography and local market.
