Can I receive school credit from my internship with Love Advertising?
When does the Love internship start and end?
If selected to be an intern at Love Advertising, your first day will be June 3. The internship will end on August 8, which means 10 weeks of fun, real-world experience at an advertising agency.
What will I be doing as an intern?
We don’t use interns to brew coffee, fetch lunch and make copies. Our internship program has two components to help ensure you get a well-rounded experience that will benefit you throughout your career:
- Education: The goal of an internship is to learn, so the Love internship committee has worked hard to secure field trips to vendors’ offices, agency partners, printers, and TV and radio stations to help you get a better understanding of what it takes to make the magic happen.
- Mentorship: Each intern is assigned a mentor within the agency to answer any questions, provide guidance and help you meet the goals of your internship. These relationships can even continue after the internship as you enter into your career.
Does an internship lead to job opportunities at Love Advertising?
While we can’t guarantee a full-time job offer at the end of the internship, there is definitely potential! Many of the current Love employees started out as interns. In fact, Love has hired interns from several of our recent summer intern classes and past interns are the first people we look to when filling entry-level positions.
Is a cover letter optional?
No. At the end of the day, advertising is all about communication so we use your resume and especially your cover letter to help us evaluate your communication skills.
Should I include relevant social media links in my resume?
Yes, we encourage you to include social media links with your application. Social media is a big part of what we do at Love so feel free to show off any social media experience, even if it’s personal.
What are the hours of the internship?
Interns have the same in-office hours as our employees to help get the most out of the internship experience. Love internship hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch. We pride ourselves on an excellent culture so if you have a doctor’s appointment or another important matter, we try to work with you as much as possible.
How should I send my portfolio?
You can include a link on your resume or cover letter. There’s also a portfolio field on the internship application form.
